Tales Left Untold

So last week was really busy, and there were things I didn't write about. I know you all really missed out. And since today has been a slow news day, I thought I would write about them now.

One day last week, we went to a guy's farm, who has been a 4-H Volunteer Leader for like 40 years, since his kids were in it, and now his grandkids. He told me he had some sheep fleeces in a barrel in his shed, and if I thought I could use them, to come get them. So R and the kids and I bundled off early in the morning and went down to his farm. What he had, were 3 full Corriedale fleeces: One white/brown mottled, one black, one gray. 33# of smelly, lovely, soft wool. We wrapped it in a bedsheet and rode around in the car, smelling like sheep.



I processed out the gray fleece already. See it? --->

I dried it on a rack over my clawfoot-tub garden. --->



And carded some of it, to send to a friend of mine. And listed some uncarded in Diantha's shop, Fluff4ewe.

Ok! On to something else!

In a little town called Loudon, just up the road, there is a former school for sale. it is built on a hill with 3 acres of ground. On the ground floor on the front of the building, facing downhill, it has 3 large classroms, each with 2 doors into them. Very easy to divide into 6 LARGE rooms. I take it on the back side of that floor are the bathrooms, kitchen, and boiler room, since that part of the story is underground. The top floor is like the bottom, except on the back of the building there are 2 classrooms with bathrooms between. Then there is a T which is a foyer with long hall upstairs, and an office or room with a half-bath downstairs. Because we are more curious than is good for us, we stopped and let the girls look in windows. They want us to buy it. "OH! It would be SO cool! We could have rooms for all our crafts!!"

ROFLOL. We have a history of buying bad houses and fixing them, though it takes years. YEARS. My dh is not into construction, and he is reluctant to undertake any project, or finish undertaken projects. That doesn't phase him in the least. He said, "It would take a fortune to run the place, and what would you do with half the building? It is 9000 sq. feet!"

I said, you get a grant and make it a "Center for the Arts." You teach spinning and weaving and knitting and quilting and painting. You charge $100 for 6 weeks of lessons and a "gallery showing" at the end, limiting class size to 10 or 12 people for each course, and do it again in 6 more weeks. See? No problem!

On the way through town, we saw a little old wooden house, abandoned. Attached to it was a brick 3-front little "strip mall." He said, "Now there is what you do that in... have the 3 fronts as classrooms and the 2-room house as Gallery/giftshop." Again, curiosity winning over discretion, we stopped and snooped in windows. The middle shop was FULL of bags of wool! Well you know City Hall was on the back side of the block... might find out who owns the place and see if they want to part with some wool.

Turns out the guy who owns it works at City Hall. One of the ladies in there says, you might try to call his house... his wife is probably home. Ok, so that turns out like this... she has been wanting to do just that, with the little buildings downtown. Said she has dreamed of doing an Art Center type of thing, just didn't know anyone to partner with, who could teach the stuff. So we are invited to her Alpaca farm this week to talk about it, and see her animals! What fun!

Alright, totally unrelated. I got a Treasury for Easter, called Empty Cross, Empty Tomb... Resurrection Power! I don't talk a lot about my faith. I try to live it and pass it on to my kids. But I am so totally unworthy, and humbly grateful, for what Christ did for us, and I hope this helps show it.

We had a GREAT Easter. Des and Tony and the kids came down, as well as a guy that Des and Tony and I used to work with at Sonic, and his girlfriend. We had ham and other yummy stuff, then hid 75 stuffed plastic eggs in the yard and let the kids hunt them. Because my own extended family was not here, no one complained about the food or ranted half an hour if there was food they didn't like. And no one yelled at the kids for acting like kids in the grass. A good time. In the pic, the middle kid is the girl next door. The grandbabies are to the right. I have 3 older kids, not pictured. And Beverly wanted to wear her Chucks with her dress. LoL!

In the evening, I got a T West called, That's Some Great Grass (Gotcha!) it has all grassy items, including a wonderful soap we have listed in Richard's Rossoaps shop. We also added a new soap today, called Leather Up! It actually smells like leather. Mmmm!

Such An Uneventful Life

Ok, so I have recovered from all the sandwich-making and running over the weekend. Or almost recovered.

My dh is on vacation this week, so this is what we have gotten accomplished: Nothing.

Oh, of course I am kidding. Yesterday my parents, who are down from Ohio, came over and Dad and Richard and any other Army Corps of Engineers volunteers they could commandeer (oh don't we LOVE alliteration?) worked on our electricity. I put together a lasagna to make for dinner, but along about 7PM when they decided that the only outlet they hadn't checked was the one behind the stove, that the electronic ignition for my oven plugs in... I made a trip to the local big-box store and then to Taco Bell, where I dazzled the associates with my ability to order random food for a dozen people, to go.

They actually got my order right (which dazzled ME)... but probably only because I went IN to get it (instead of driving all the way home to find out they forgot the order of nachos) and stood there and counted it all before I left.

My BIL came also, with my little niece, and brought us a 36-in. television that he got for free and fixed for a little bitty part. Just in case you couldn't see the TV screen from anywhere in the 24' x 30' main great room of our house BEFORE. NOW YOU CAN.

I am slacking on putting new yarns up to my my7kids etsy store. But we have listed quite a few new items in Diantha's shop... including a HUGE furry purple and aqua 2-ply handspun, a carded batt in cranberry Corriedale and white llama, and some washed Corriedale and llama fleeces.

I got a main Treasury, which has expired. But Diantha has a current one, called She Loves Wild Colors. Here on the left is a screen shot! And I got a T West from my HeartFeltFun Boutique, called Hip To Be Square. So here is a shot of that one.

Tomorrow I get to go to a local farm and get some natural black, gray, and brown sheep wools. More on that later! And, we get to make Diantha's skirt for Easter. AND, my folks will be back over for the much-longed-for Lasagne. I better get some sleep!

A New Spinner

Thursday Des was down at our house and decided to spin something. She was spinning up a batt I got from ArtemisArtemis at Etsy. Beverly was sitting in her chair, hollering at Desiree and Diantha. They tried offering her something to eat, offering her something to drink, asking her if she wanted to watch a video... nothing helped. So they handed her a spindle and a piece of green Merino wool, and that did the trick. She just wanted to spin something!

The batt in question was a mix of just about everything: Merino, mohair locks, assorted wools, bamboo, and sari silk... and was only 1.95 oz. But Des got about 98 yards of this beautiful yarn, which she said was Heffalumps And Woozles on Parade. We put it up in Diantha's shop.

Yesterday we dyed some Corriedale a nice turquoise color, and some Montadale a fuchsia purple. I had wanted to duplicate a batt that Diantha has in her shop, but the purple came out more like Prince purple. Diantha and I spun the turquoise with a little white bamboo thrown in for shimmer, into a sock weight single. Now we are spinning the purple (also with a little bamboo thrown in) into a heavy worsted. The idea is to ply them together. We shall see.

We have a short day today. Have to package some orders for mailing, before noon. Then we have to make cookies and Krispy treats and take them to our church by 3:30. Drama performance services are at 3, 5, and 7. We are helping feed the cast and crew... then attending the 5 PM service/performance and working the nurseries for the 7 PM one.

I got the mini quilt in the mail from the 4 Seasons Monochromatic Mini Quilt Swap. Here in the left is a pic... it is RED. I did say my favorite colors were purple and red, and favorite season Fall. So this is my quilt partner's interpretation of that. It is beautifully done in little miniature pieced blocks, and bound in solid red. It does give an impression of falling leaves. I like it.

I got a main Treasury this morning, called Larry, Moe, and Curly... but it's not what you think! Here is a screen shot!

Geez, April Fools, and I am Late

Actually I wrote this last night, and only needed to add pics. But one of my sons decided to monopolize the computer the pics were in, and I couldn't get signed into messenger for him to send them, so I ended up waiting until 1:30 AM and going to bed with my blog not done. ~~ sigh ~~

A friend if mine (I won't say who but her initials are Marion) got me with this one. FeLon yarn.

Diantha got a T West this morning, called Don't Wear Patent Leather Shoes. TOOOooo Funny!

Today I couldn't find the digicam. I looked where I usually put it, and on the table (I should make not here that right now our table is a MOUNTAIN of pulled fabrics,
non-used fabrics, and scraps of fabric as 3 of us scurry to the W/U deadline), and on the kitchen island. On top of the computer stack. On the ironing board, just in case. Couldn't find my brain, er, the digicam anywhere. I remembered it being in the car with us last night and thought maybe it was still there... so I went out to look. And in the THIRTY SECONDS I was out of the house...

Beverly found a Sharpie marked behind the computer keyboard (where *I* did NOT leave it) and gave herself tattoos on both arms, her leg, and put "makeups" on. She was so proud, she had to come out on the porch and show me! Complete with PBJ sandwich on her face, too!

Today was the DAY for kids to mark up their faces I guess, Des sent me this pic of my grandson Jeremiah, with PBJ face and blue rubberstamp "makeup" also. ~~ SIGH ~~

I folded the five loads of laundry. No, really, I folded the FIVE loads of laundry. And while I did so, they bred two more loads. Same reason I *used* to have a rule about not leaving 2 items in the sink at night, which somehow my kids have drifted away from. Maybe why we *always* have dishes in the sink. That or the dishwasher is as old as Methuselah and doesn't work right. ~~ sigh ~~

We did Veronica's entire Weird and Ugly quilt today, and are working on Artemas' right now. Hers is so cute! She says she thinks she might sell it when the challenge is over! I would buy it! Oh wait...

I also got a T West today, called Baaa, I'm Feelin' a Little Sheepish. It has SHE team and Etsyknitters in it, including one of Diantha's yarns.

And I have one more pic to share for the day, I call it, "Sharpie Marker is Not Quite Enough Decoration."
Dinner was supposed to be roast chicken with stuffing. But due to some fluke, there is a short in the circuit to the kids' bedrooms and because the guy who wired this house was a total nah-nah, that circuit also includes the refrigerator and the plug-in for the gas stove's electric oven ignition. No glow bar, no gas. No gas, no oven. So the Roast Chicken became Barbecue Chicken on the Grill and the stuffing became cheesy noodles with broccoli. And Betsy became a mess. The end.

It's Been a WEEK?!?

Where did the time go? What do I have to show for it?

Well, I don't have a new motorcycle. We looked into getting a 900 v-twin last weekend but someone just beat us to it. His buddy might have a 650 Honda, will get back to us. Hmmm.

Beverly has done some more Photography. Again, from a 2 yr. old's eye view, here is An Evening In With Mom. Also titled, B's Eye View 2. Wow, dust on the laptop. Who would think?

I have 5 loads of laundry in my living room to fold. We are in the throes of the Weird and Ugly Fabric Challenge #15 deadline-approach. It is actually tonight at midnight. So not much else is getting done right now.

That isn't the only reason things are really piling up. We decided to open a shop at Etsy for fleece, carded fiber batts, and handspun yarns and let 14 yod Diantha run it as part of her high school curriculum. So we have spent the last several days washing raw fleece, dyeing, carding, spinning, etc. Her shop is up and running, with over a dozen shop hearts, item hearts, and one sale already... in 3 days. She applied and was accepted to SHEteam... but we haven't heard back from Etsyknitters. Stop on over and take a look... Fluff4Ewe.etsy.com.

On the left just above here you can see one of the handspun yarns we put up in the shop... Candylicious! This is 100% Montadale lamb that we processed from raw fleece. We dyed it and spun it into a lumpy, bumpy, fun self-striping yarn with just a tiny trace of the lanolin still in it.

On the right is her first sale... a carded batt of hand dyed pink Corriedale, black Alpaca, and green Merino, called What A Melon. Yum!

We've managed to nab a couple Treasury Wests, including this one on the left from Richard's Rossoaps shop, called Leather Up, Guys! and featuring all leather items. Most were made by men on Etsy. I think a lot of people think of Etsy as a ladies' marketplace, but that isn't necessarily so. Once in a while it is nice for the guys to have the spotlight.

Diantha got a T West right off the bat (savvy, or what?) She called hers Fluff n Stuff, in honor of her new shop.

She is, at this writing, in THREE treasuries that our own family did not make: Isn't SHE lovely (with the Candylicious yarn above), and SHE is Diverse and SHE Loves Her Jeans, both featuring her Oceana yarn.

My My7kids shop is an alternate in the SHE Loves Her Jeans treasury, and my HeartFeltFun shop has an item in a T called Song Sung Blue.

I have been in an incredible lot of pain with a kidney stone that seems to not want to pass. Almost 3 weeks now, and it is wearing me down. Well maybe tomorrow will be a better day!

Getting Just a Little Done

Today I got the binding cut and done around 9 potholders. They were Diantha's, and she cut 5" charms for the swap for me while I did her bindings. My machine was messing up so I took a break in the middle of it so my head wouldn't pop off. I would post a pic, but they are for the Weird and Ugly Fabric Challenge so... you just have to wait!

I also got a handbag made for my HeartFeltFun Boutique at Etsy. I called it "O My Handbag"... it is pale pea-green felted wool/angora from a recycled sweater, it has a cotton webbing and leather recycled belt in green, cream, and tan for a strap, and it is lined in deep pea-green with white polka dots. It has 2 inner pockets and zips shut at the top. A nice roomy 12" wide by 9" high by 3" deep too!

Diantha spun up one of her lavender wool/cashmere, orange corriedale, teal merino batts today. I don't know how much yarn she got but it is every bit as fun as what she spun yesterday. See?

I was JUST reminded that we not only have 4-H in the morning, one of the kids was supposed to submit a tabletop exhibit on processing fiber. I have all the caption labels and fibers, but used the exhibit board last week on gardening. Even if I ran up and got one, it would take til 2 AM to put it together. Then be up at 7 to make the meeting in the next town over, by 8:30. I just can't. So GREAT, I just got the 2nd Bad Mom award in a week. Must be a record.

But, on a happy note, it means picking up donuts for breakfast.

Heck, for donuts, I would just about stay up glueing fiber to cardboard.

Dude, Someone Blogged Me

Today I went to the firing range with my friend (and my daughter's MIL) Cheryl. We had a nice time shooting. My Lorcin .380 misloaded every time I tried to fire it, so I put it away. I don't get it; Richard thoroughly cleaned and oiled it before I went. oh well... Afterward we went to Wild Wings for lunch, which was more fun than shooting guns together. She didn't want to take home the targets, because ex-hubby-slash-SO, a retired Highway Patrolman, gets nervous about guns. She sent them home with me. I said I was going to Blog about them so the whole internet could see them. She just laughed and said, "Don't BLOG me!" So for tonight, I didn't post the pics. Tonight. Muahahaha...

On the way home my little old Suzuki was misfiring also, like one of the spark plugs is fouled or something. A project for tomorrow, maybe. So I have had a Bad Mechanical Day.

I snagged a main Treasury last night in Richards' Rossoaps shop at Etsy. Here on the left is a screen shot... it is called Cardinal Sins. What fun!

EmptyNestEgg also included my Blue Bell flower pin in her main Treasury, called She Stopped to Smell, which is all items from the SHE team. Thank you!

On to something we actually did. LoL. For Diantha's birthday last week, I gave her some random lavender and purple wool balls (I spun my felted slippers from them, passed some on to another knitter, sent some carded with other fibers to Japan, and gave Diantha the rest with some lavender Cashmere yarn bits mixed in), some cleaned and dyed orange Corriedale fleece, and some teal Merino. Yesterday she carded them together. She didn't divide the merino quite evenly, so ended up with a little extra purple and orange. She spun them up together last night and got 28 yards of the coolest, funky yarn! It will be great trim on something.

Yesterday we made Great Grass soap. It has hemp oil in it, and minced alfalfa... and the soap is actually colored with grass! We used lavender, cedarwood, and spruce essential oils for a deep, herbal fragrance. Wonderful!

Picturesque Busy-ness

We had a good time at the 4-H fair yesterday. They gave me all the wool from the sheep shearing... some of it is a lamb's first shearing. I don't know what breed, but it is simply lovely. One of the ladies was talking to me and asked if I would like to have the wool from their shearings this year... New Hampshires and Dorset. I know Dorset isn't next-to-skin soft, but it would still be good for felting or selling to felters. I said, well, if you don't need it... and she said, "Oh, no, we never knew anyone who could use it for anything so we have just always thrown it away!"

What, WHAT, WHAT?!?

Like a Bad Mom, I forgot the sunscreen. I remembered just as we got there and meant to ask hubby to run home for some, or across the street (to the big-box store), but got busy setting up. Then he took off and was gone an hour and a half... came back and took off again. By the time I remembered, we were all pink-cheeked. Not bad, no one seems blistered. But I felt sad about it anyway.

WoolAndWood at Etsy bought some yarn from me a while back, and has made this incredible, felted Irish Summer handbag out of it. Stop by her shop for other gorgeous, creative items!!

I nabbed a main Treasury tonight, called SHEteam is Simply Blue. Here is a screen shot. SHE team is Schooling at Home Etsians, so God bless us, every one. We need all the help we can get, LoL. Despite our busy-ness with teaching at home, the team members manage to create WONDERFUL art. I am proud to be a part of it!

One of the advantages to having more than one shop (and more than one computer) is that sometimes one can do the impossible... and have a second T. Cheating, I guess. But I let my 10yo daughter Veronica pick out all the items, and Diantha helped her with the headlines and comments. So on the left is a screen shot of her T, called Pink and Purple Pills. If you get a chance, go visit these lovely collections and click on the items... it gives the artists exposure, and boosts the Treasury in the Hot lists, helping it have a chance to be an Etsy Front Page.

I've Become The Horrible Quilter

Well, I did it. It's official. I have become The Horrible Quilter.

I was in this challenge swap, where each participant had to submit 2 colors they loved and one color they hated... choose a season that is their favorite, and a style of quilt they DISliked most (art, traditional, applique, etc). Then each person in the swap was assigned another (secret) person and notified of their choices above. We were to make a mini quilt (max. 24'"x 24" square) in ONE of their two favorite color choices and with a theme of their favorite season, and within a type of quilt category that wasn't what they didn't like. In other words, if the person I was assigned to loved green and winter and hated applique quilts, I could make a mini quilt in shades of green with a winter theme in any type of quilt besides applique. We had to mail the quilt off to this secret person NOT BEFORE Feb. 22 and not later than March 30.

So I got right busy and made a wonderful quilt in traditional blocks in a Fall theme in the base color Orange (or variations thereof, like brown being the darkest orange and pale yellow-orange being the lightest). I posted pics of the components on my blog before. I made a Tree of Life center, with setting corners of light oranges on top and earthy oranges at the bottom (like sunrise and dirt, LoL) in strip-pieces, and a bunch of Flying Geese to go up the left side and down the right. I finished all these components by about the first of February.

Since it was too early to mail, I put the quilt top away. And lost it.

Des tells me last week that it had to be mailed by Saturday. PANIC. I cleaned house, cleaned out stash drawers, pawed through piles of fabric and boxes of yarn and fiber (just in case). Never found it. So yesterday when everyone was here for Diantha's birthday party, Des helped me cut out squares for a Split 9 Patch. You make 9-patches and cut them in 1/4ths and reassemble them. I put the quilt together last night and quilted it this morning, with variegated thread. From the back, you can actually see the quilting pattern... which is Leaf shapes in the large dark areas, little football shapes in the small dark areas, and kind of wiggly pinwheels where 4 light strips meet. Not so bad!

From the front, it looks like a drunk put this together and quilted it with a treadle machine in the back of a dark alley. Gotta be the worst quilt I have ever made. I mailed it anyway. When I got in the computer to get the lady's address, I noticed that the mail date isn't til March 30. By then I could have found the original quilt top, or made something better. But I mailed it anyway. Now I am The Horrible Quilter. Wish I hadn't been required to sign my name.

On a little happier note, I got a main Treasury last night, actually obscenely early this morning, called Absinthe Makes the Heart Grow... fonder.Or is it more forgetful? which is doing pretty well in the FP race. To your left you will see a screen shot. Since I took this screen shot, I moved a couple alternates in, just for fun.

Mid-morning today, from my other shop, I got a Treasury West in honor of Diantha. It will expire on Wed., which is her 14th birthday. She loves orange and purple and avant-garde type items, and her name means "Flower of God," which is what I named this treasury. Here on the right is a screen-shot of it.

I didn't do a quilt block-a-day today, since sandwiching and quilting badly and binding and washing an entire quilt, even if it was only 24" x 24", was all I could take.

I did start a knitting project today, which I thought was going to be a set of fingerless mitts. As I cast it on, it decided to be something entirely different. I mean WAY off the different scale. Then when I got 4 rows knitted, I decided that it should be made differently than how I was going about it. Since I am not working with a pattern, and since I am already giving in a little to the insouciance of the yarn not wanting to be what I wanted it to be, I can be a Domiknitrix and make this yarn behave. (by the way, that's a great, if offbeat, knitting book. Click on it and you can get it at half.com for 3 bucks!)

Tips for Ts

I have had some people ask for ideas, so...

Here are some tips for making GREAT Treasuries on Etsy!

1. Decide on your Category - but don't be afraid to think outside the box. For instance, you may want "Cats" but you may also want to try searches of "Feline," "Tigers," "Kittens," "Stuffed," "Toy," etc. You may want to have a category within a category... perhaps items of Kittens with Blue in them. Narrowing it down more will give your T cohesiveness.

You might want to have a variety of items (for instance, a piece of jewelry, a painting, a cloth apron, etc.) or you may want to keep it to ONE type of item (example, blue stuffed toy kittens). Don't forget to include the team tag in your search criteria if you want items from a team you are on... but don't get a huge guilt trip if you find great items for your theme and they aren't from your team! Just make your T beautiful and fun!

2. Decide on your Title - this way when a T comes open, you aren't suprised, flustered, or unprepared. Be clever! Think of an alternate way to say what you want. Blue toy kitten example: "Mews with the Blues"

3. Have a Method - I do my search, then go to the last page, because those listings have usually been up longest and would appreciate the exposure. Then I skip the last page or two, because these listings can actually expire before you are able to get a T or T West. I work forward using odd pages only, then if I haven't filled my 16 item quota (12 for the T plus alternates), work back through on the even pages.

4. AND THIS IS IMPORTANT! Probably actually the first rule of Ts! ONLY choose listings with EXCELLENT, EXCEPTIONAL PICTURES!! Look for things like an attractive but not distractive background, a close-in shot of the item (even at an odd angle), beautiful lighting, and true color. One way you can tell if the color is true is to look for a "white" in the picture and see if it really is white.

I have been known to write (politely) to an artist and say, "I am hearting items for an upcoming Treasury, and would LOVE to include your item, but the picture is a little fuzzy. Is there a way you can retake the main picture?" or, "your third listing picture is more attractive visually, can you rearrange them?"

Even if I really LOVE an item, I will pass it by if the photography stinks.

5. Heart the items for your T. If you are going to include an item (or two!) from your own shop, don't forget to leave yourself a couple "spaces." Have a new tab or window with your favorites open and refresh it from time to time to keep count of what you have going.

I go to my shop, then open Favorites from there. It will come up with a 12-item gallery almost like your Treasury. Even if you are going to put some of those items as alternates, and items from the next page in the T itself, you will still get an idea of what it will look like and where you want to put items in your layout.

6. Make a great layout! If you have items with dark backgrounds and items with light backgrounds, alternate them... Light, dark, light or vice versa. Or a "busy" picture, a calm one, a busy one. If some of your listings have a dominant color in commmon, put them in a row or down the middle of the T to draw the eye down. Most Treasuries, the items in the first two rows will get more clicks than the 3rd and 4th row... so arrange items so that they draw the viewer down to look at ALL the rows!

7. Make a comment... let people know WHY you chose this treasury. Make them interested! Don't forget to click! Even as curator, you are allowed 12 clicks that count. which leads me to number 8...

8. Spread the word! As I click on each item once my T is made, I then go to the Contact link and let the artist know they are in my T. A simple message that can be copied and pasted in for each listing, something like this:

I have just included your item in my Treasury [West]. Please visit, click on items, and comment, to see if we can make the front page! Thanks!

Total Treasury Transfusion

First of all, pray for me people, because I have lost something I was supposed to mail TOMORROW. Sheesh. Wonder I can find my feet sometimes.

Tonight I nabbed an Etsy T in my dh's shop id, called Uniquely Wicked. Here is a screen shot...

And, Des got one, in honor of Diantha, who will be 14 next Wednesday; Flower Child.

Then as if that isn't enough, articles from my my7kids yarn shop got featured in TWO Treasuries...

Who Wants To Be In My Treasury? and Purifying Heart. Both of these have a 100% charity donation item from my shop.

And, Ohmay featured my Rainbow Throwdown gauntlet in a Treasury that she made: Pestos and Tomato.

So, I guess it has been a busy evening. LoL!

Today the kids and I went to the Children's Museum in Oak Ridge. A very interesting, hands-on place, and they always love to go there. And that is all I have to report, no quilt pics or great accomplishments.

Just for fun I did my dh Richard's name in the Unfortunately and Apparently searches (see previous post), and here are his Unfortunate results:

Unfortunately and Apparently

I got a main Treasury at Etsy yesterday and it is doing excellently! It is on page 2 of the "hot" list! To the right here is a screen shot of it. Enjoy!


We were a couple days behind on the quilt blocks, and today was a no-block day. So Diantha and I made blocks today. The first block was called Navajo. Here is here (as usual) very drab version. (LOL)


And just below it, you will see my version. I know I have blocks going for Edna Mazur and for Connie Rosolli and for Ranger, but I had to interrupt this program and make this block for Lula. Because you see, the name of the block is Navajo, but I call it "Not a Ho, Anymo!" ROFLOL.

And, in true style, I put it together wrong. The pink should all be around one side of the block and the green around the other. I could SWEAR I laid it out correctly but something got lost in the sewing translation.

Ok, two more. Yesterday's block, I don't know what it was called. Diantha stuck to her recent, calming color scheme, as seen on the left. I think she has 3 more blocks to go in these colors. Whew!

And since mine is Edna Mazur, I put the 4-patches in just a little off-kilter. Some of the blocks I have made for this quilt top are straight... cause I figure she has her act together about 47% of the time. LoL.

Des showed me something kind of fun tonight, so I thought I would play the game a little here. If you do a Google search and write "Unfortunately [your name]" or "Apparently [your name]", it comes up with some wacky stuff! I of course used "Nikki" since that is my name. You can use whoever's name you want... but you must use the quotes. Here are some of my Unfortunate results:
